The Story Behind North Pole City

David Green, the owner of North Pole City, always loved the Christmas season. He got his start as a ceiling fan shop owner, but he needed a business to supplement his sales and compete with big-box stores.

Mr. Green needed some magic. So he took his fondness for the Christmas season and used it as inspiration to open The Christmas Shop in the early 1980s. This would go on to become North Pole City.

Today, North Pole City is an Oklahoma City attraction. The retail store is open from September to January with online sales all year long.

A Winter Wonderland in Oklahoma City

Months before each retail shop season, the Green family and their employees are busier than Santa's elves setting up a winter wonderland throughout the store. The setting rivals vast displays in the biggest cities and stores with dozens of festive trees adorned with the season's latest and best ornaments.

Collectibles are displayed throughout the shop, greeting customers with Christmas cheer, and the infectious spirit of North Pole City's happy employees warms the heart of even the toughest of scrooges. Mr. Green's dream of building a Christmas store into a business continues to bring joy to customers and families year after year.
